In the realm of classic cocktails, Tequila and Tonic stands tall as a refreshing and invigorating drink that pleases both tequila enthusiasts and casual cocktail lovers. The fusion of Tequila, an iconic Mexican spirit, and Tonic water, a quinine-infused effervescent mixer, creates a unique and delightful concoction.

Tequila and Tonic Recipe

2 ounces tequila
4 ounces tonic water
Garnish: lime wedge

In a highball glass half filled with ice add the tequila, then the tonic.
Garnish with lime wedge.

What tequila to use? This is best with either a blanco tequila for a crisp refreshing drink, or the slightly aged reposado for a smoother, warmer flavor (my favorite). I would save the aƱejos for sipping neat or on the rocks.

Tequila and Tonic is more than just a drink; it’s a celebration of flavors and a fusion of cultures. The bite of tequila combined with the quinine-infused effervescence of tonic water creates a delightful and revitalizing experience for the palate. Whether you’re a seasoned tequila aficionado or a curious newcomer, this classic cocktail is sure to charm and impress.

An excellent choice for a summer cocktail, it’s refreshing any time of year. Cheers to a summer filled with Tequila and Tonic adventures!

Be sure to check out our post on Gin and Tonic for a recipe to make these by the pitcher! Just substitute tequila for the gin.

Drinks like the tequila and tonic are great with a straw that doubles as a drink stirrer. These are the perfect size to use with the Riedel Highball glass (see the feature image above).
